HELP ! Primergy TX200 /Boot retry counter is zero on server

Postby guestXX » Fri Jun 15, 2012 12:36

Hello there,
Could some one give me a solution for this error:

Boot retry counter is zero on server xxxxxxx. On next critical error shutdown the server will no longer try to reboot. System will run diagnostic system or switch off.

Windows 2003 Standard R2
This error is in eventvwr in application log.
The server is Primergy TX200.
Windows 2003 Standard R2
Event ID 10666

Boot retry counter is zero on server xxxxxxx. On next critical error shutdown the server will no longer try to reboot. System will run diagnostic system or switch off.

Thank you in advance. :)

PP; Sorry if this is a wrong place for my topic.

Yes, this is the wrong place for your topic. There is an English language part of the forum as well.

In order to cure the problem, you can either use the system configuration component of your ServerView agents to reset the counter (or disable it completely), or set the parameters in BIOS, section Server, accordingly.

The boot retry counter is decreased by one on every reboot of the server, where the boot process does not reach the successful start of ServerView agents within a given time period. So, if for example, you start your system with a boot CD (other than ServerStart DVD), this counter will be decreased.
This has been implemented to prevent the system from continuously failing to start again over and over, a process which might be harmful to the data on your disks.
