Running MS Server 2008 standard

Postby daedalus2005 » Thu Jul 15, 2010 13:37

I use a Primergy RX300 S2 as a test machine and have standard MS server 2003 running on the system all OK. I downloaded a trial version of standard x64 bit from MS to install and run on this server. I created a disk from the ISO download. I boot from the disk and also I run setup from the Disk and all I get is that this seup will not run on this system. Do I have to do anything on this system to install server 2008? I have looked on the fujitsu websites and I cannot find anything on this.

First, you'll need to find out whether your RX300s2 incarnation is x64-capable at all. IIRC, there were different types of Intel processors in use in those ancient days, some with x64 capabilities, some without.

Latest versions of BIOS and firmware are mandatory, of course.

Then, you could try and discover that there is an English language part of the forum, too...
