POST beep codes - help please

Postby DSE » Mon Oct 31, 2011 10:04

Can anyone tell me where to find the list of Power On Self Test beep codes for the Scaleo P and their meanings ? On power up I get 2 rapid followed by 8 rapid followed by 1 rapid beep and, of course, nothing more happens. Is it a terminal failure? Thanks.

While the machine is off. you need to unplug hdd/cdrom drive and front usb ports from the motherboard. Remove the memory sticks.

when you power on the machine should give a relevent post about no memory (12 beeps Motherboard does not detect a RAM module (continuous beeping) )

If this does beep you can safely say the CPU is ok - the POST has moved from cpu to board ram and not found any.

If you have a bad ram stick it could be that so if you have more than 1 stick of ram try 1 ram stick - test - try other where neccesary.
