Scaleo T & n router connectivity

Postby AlNic » Mon Jun 27, 2011 16:26

Hi. I have had a perfectly functioning Scaleo T with XP running on a wireless BT router. I have now received the new BT Home Hub 3.0 n router and the Scaleo fails to connect to the router. The Scaleo still sees other routers in the area but not my close by n model. BT reckon the Scaleo does not have a compatible wireless internal adaptor and recommed I purchase an external wireless adaptor to enable the Scaleo to connect with the new router. Could it not just be the case that I install a new wireless software driver?

Hi
I quote "The BT Home Hub is a wireless residential gateway router distributed by BT. It is based on the Wi-Fi 802.11n standard, and is also backwards compatible with 802.11g and 802.11b."
So yes it will work however this pic shows the advantages of the latest router

I think the advantages of it are better coverage anywhere in your home, Better speed and less interference of other routers in your vacinity.

Appreciate the n router is backward compatible but the Scaleo T wont see it but sees other routers in the area which are NOT n routers. Frustration abounds.

Yes chances are you have to login to the router sort the channel out (should be 6) and also sort the encryption out. rather than help you though bt offer you up the nice lie that its not compatable and go buy something.

Connect up your lan cable
then click start - Run - type = cmd
in the command window type = ipconfig (return)
Look down the list for default gateway should be a 192.168.0.1 or something similar

open browser - in the www address bar delete all and type the ip address 192.168 etc
Type in your username and password this is usualy "admin" and "admin"

Contact your ISP for the password login details if that doesnt work.
