BIOS problem - help appreciated

Postby sgp » Tue Jun 22, 2010 11:01

Hello,
appreciate any suggestions for this problem.
I have a Scaleo P pc with a BIOS problem.
The problem is with a fujitsu seimens Scaleo P system
The Motherboard is Asus P5GD1-FM/S
The machine died for some reason. As per instructions found on the Fujitsu web site, I removed the battery for a short period and the BIOS jumpers were removed for a short period also.

and now when turning on, it boots without POST and with the following message...
"Ez flash"
"looking for cd rom"
"looking for floppy"

I Downloaded the latest bios from fujitsu site (FTS_FLASHBIOSUPDATEasusP5GD1FMACPBIOSRevision_1004522.ISO)
and it comes in the form of a 1.46mb iso. I extracted the files from this ISO file and found 1203.rom and renamed it to P5GD1FM.ROM

I burned the P5GD1FM and other files to a data CD and popped it in the machine and got the following outcome..
"EZ flash starting bios update"
"reading file, start erasing"
"start programming"
"flashed successfully"
"rebooting system"

I then remove the CD, but it will just go back to repeatedly searching for floppy and then searching for CDrom.
after power on, tried pressing F2, F12, F8 or DEL but none of these keys work.

what is the next step? is the machine dead and unrecoverable ?, any help or advice would be usefull before i junk the machine and buy another and add to global warming!.

thank you
