Scaleo J / AMD 64 cpu - what can I upgrade to??

Hi all, first post here.

I have a scaleo J pc which is really sluggish, especially when using things like cubase, illustrator and satellite tv.

AMD seems like a minefield to me compared to pentium upgrades but would really like to know what I can upgrade to before thinking about replacement and what would be my limits?

Details;
Fujitsu Scaleo J AMD 64 3200+ 995mhz 1ghz IMC 512kb L2
960mb RAM
M2R-FVM think that's an Asus motherboard?
Windows XP

I would be really grateful if someone could spell out what CPU I could upgrade to

P.S. More memory would make a noticable difference.
