Postby jennybritnell » Wed Dec 21, 2005 23:07

I have a Scaleo L with P4GE-FSC motherboard and have bought a Radeon 9800 pro AGP graphics card for it - but am stuck with installing it - can anyone walk me through this please
disabling onboard graphics
where on the hard disc does the lead that is not the power go?
I have looked at the manual for the 9800 pro but am just confused..

with anticipatory thanks

Read the manual (page 2-18 ):

Onboard VGA [Auto]
When set to Auto, this item allows BIOS to automatically detect the onboard VGA, and the AGP device if installed. Under this setting, the AGP device has higher priority over the onboard VGA. If an AGP device is present, the onboard VGA is disabled. If no AGP device is detected, the onboard VGA is automatically enabled. When set to Enabled, the onboard VGA is used even if an AGP device is present.

Therefore, you do not have to set the BIOS. A new AGP card will be detected automatically (if set to Auto).

A harddisk has two cables: power and datacable. The last one goes on the Primary IDE connector. You can see the connector on page 1-6 named PRI_IDE. The CDROMs are usually connected to the SEC_IDE.
