Firmware update for a D2616 Raid Card ?

Postby DrPhilipp » Thu Nov 29, 2018 20:17

I got an old D2616 Raid Card from ebay, it has the firmware 3.18
which is pretty old, my other D2616's have the version 3.30

Where can I found recent firmware for the D2616 ?

Cheers
Philipp

Hi Philipp,
I'm afraid that you won't "found" (or find?) something like "firmware 3.30" anywhere...
(SCNR, I'm not a native speaker myself ;-))

But you can actually find the latest firmware update package for D2616 on FTS's download pages, choosing any PRIMERGY server product that optionally shipped with this controller, e.g. in RX300s8 under this link.

Please check the notes which list
FW 2.130.403-4660
BIOS 3.30.02.2_4.16.08.00_0x6060A0500
WebBIOS 6.0-54-e_50-Rel
NVDATA 2.09.03-0058
HIIM 03.07.12.04
EFI driver 6060A0500

Please also follow the additional hint to upgrade with an intermediate step, if the currently installed PACKAGE version is older than 12.9.0-0051, so check ALL&EVERY displayed version information!

You'll need a SERVER OS...
2008R2SP1 (comparable to gamers' Win7) would be fine.
Perhaps, you could install that into a hardware-bootable VHD...

Sorry, I've no information whether you would be able to find a firmware on LSI/Avago/Broadcom's (original manufacturer of the controller) pages suitable for Win7.
