Eternus DX80 and High Performance Computing

Postby fedele » Thu Apr 30, 2015 9:11

Hello,
I have an Eternus DX80 (12 Hard Disks) connected by 4 FC cables to a server used for HPC: I don't need redundancy but only High Performance Throughput.
For this reason I'm planning to group the disks in my GX80 into 4 RAID5 and create 4 LUN. The DX80 has 2 controllers, so I'll tie 2 LUNs to CM 0 and the other 2 LUNs to CM 1.
On the server I have Linux so I can use LVM to create a unique 4 striped Logical Volume to parallelize the access.

My aim is to reach the best througput for one or at most three processes and I want to use at the best the hardware and the connections availables.
anyone has suggestions about this configuration?
