Sata 500GB or Sata 1000GB on SX80 (Performance)

Postby Tommy15 » Tue Jul 20, 2010 13:18

Is this statement true?

we like to order a SX80 Shelf with 5 Sata 500GB Disks.
I ask them to use 5 1000GB SATA, but the Saler said we don't use them, because it is much less performance with 1000GB Sata Hardisks.

Hi, this statement is very rough in detail...

But the speed is dependent on what sort of SATA it is, but the 1000gb should be faster. Don't forget that a drive is also faster when it has a spinning speed of 7200rpm.

I have a 1000gb drive that is on SATA 3gb/s RAID, and runs at 7200rpm. This drive of mine gas a write speed of 26 - 35mb/s and a transfer speed of 24mb/s
