Ouch!! using Fibrecat sx-80

Postby MarkM » Tue May 04, 2010 12:44

hi folks,

i recently mapped a HBA controller on a second DC to the same share as the first DC.
(add this via "manage host list" in volume mapping and then added the controller under the volume in "map hosts to volume")

two days later windows is reporting that the volume is dirty and needs chkdsk /f to be run.(a reboot of one of the server attempt to chkdsk the san volume)

also a user has reported a corrupt file which i have been unable to move/delete/rename (file is unreadable or corrupt)

i have a concern that mapping a second controller to the same volume as the other machine is causing me issues.

can anyone comment on this as i'm really concenred this may be causing big issues.

i believe i have discoverd that i assigned the new mapping with the same LUN are the adjacent mapping.

i have remapped ensuring that the LUN numbers are different.
