the broken one has the role of Global Hot Spare. I am not yet very familiar with Fujitsu storage and have doubts about the procedure, which I believe it is as follows:

Log in using the maintenance user

    Set maintenance mode on

Release Hot Spare (the broken disk)

    Click on "Remove disk"

Physically extract the disk and insert the replacement

Check if the new disk is recognized and set it as Global Hot Spare

Am I right? something missing?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

We would like to inform you the following:

Yes, the [Maintenance Mode] should be started before any HW configuration changes. Some options can't be used without maintenance;

[Remove Disk] operation used if you want to remove disk from your config.
If you need to replace failed/pre-failed disk:
disk is in status [Broken] - you can just replace it
disk is not in [Broken] - please start [Preventive Maintenance] for this disk first:
[Component] -> [Drives] -> set checkbox on target drive -> [Preventive maintenance] on right pan

After this operation is finished, the target disk is isolated and you can replace it.
If in some reason, part can't be isolated by [Preventive maintenance], you can do it manually by [Force disable].

Also, please pay attention, the storage disks use special disk FW, therefore you can't install regular disk from market, even if it has the same model.
Only authorized for Fujitsu disks are allowable.

Kind regards,

Thanks for your tips, I have another doubt: After physically replacing the drive, is there any action that needs to be done?

Thanks again.

Hello :)

After preventive maintenance it could be needed to enable disk manually by [Force enable].
Please, avoid to keep disks in status [Present].

This status means disk is healthy and recognized by system, but not participates any activity.

Fujitsu best practice is to assign disks either to RAID, or to HotSpare role.
Thats generally all.
