DX200 S3 Root Password

Postby Sangiro IT » Thu Jan 20, 2022 9:40

Hi
We lost our root password for the unit and now we are stuck.
We want to repurpose the units for another project and need to re-setup the units.

I can login with f.ce but obviously cant do stuff like remove one of the DX1200 from the list ect. (the 1 of 2 DX1200 is broken)

Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

Hello :)

If logged in as f.ce, you should be able to change the root password. Otherwise, you can try following the reset procedure using the front panel (available in the Operation Manual - Basic)

Thanks for the reply.

I did try that but I can only change f.ce password.
Cant find any other user options.

Are you referring to the "function button for 3 sec and pushing it 3 times under 3 sec."?
Doesn't wont to work for some reason.

Also I have to mention that one of my connected DX1200's lost a SAS port and I cant remove it with the f.ce account.
So my device shows not ready and I cant get that changed with out removing the broken DX from the list.

Never mind... I R A ID10T
I used a old manual that came with it... the 5 push under 3 sec. was not in my manual...

Thanks a lot, I got in with root and all is well!!
I will however, ask for more help most likely in the future.

Thanks

Sorry to say, but you are wrong. A user with role "Maintainer" can only modify his own password, but not for other users.
User management is one the things, a maintainer cant do.

Agreed.
Pushing the Front Panel button 5 times under 3 sec when in Maintenance mode was the only way I got in.
