N560 WiFi Questions

Postby Inaki » Wed Aug 05, 2009 13:41

Allright I'm sure this could be a really basic question but I'm a bit lost with the WiFi on the N560.

First off, I have no idea what this EC2 thing is or how to configure the WiFi on it. All I see is a little globe that only gives me an option to turn on and off WLAN power but no settings to connect or choose networks. In the EC2 software I only get a Hotspot mode that won't let me connect to networks with passwords.

So, do I actually HAVE a WLAN adapter int he PDA? Or do I need to buy one to put in the expansion port? I was under the impression it already came with WLAN in it. And if so, how do I connect to different networks, even those with passwords? I tried managing in the "Connections" tab but I don't get any option to set up any wireless connections, only through cell service?

If anyone can shine any light on this that would be great!

Hey Pete! Sadly my PDA didnt' work for what I needed, but it was a software problem not a WiFi problem. Yes, you do have WiFi enabled on your PDA, EC2 is an add on by Fujitsu and to be honest I just deleted it and that fixed all my problems. It takes a few tries and a bit of Google work, but in the end its easier and more reliable to do it through WM5 than EC2.

I hope this helps, if not feel free to send me a PM and I'll try and help out.
