TX2560 M2 with D3262-A100 adapter

Postby vladkobg » Mon Nov 14, 2022 17:21

Hello guys,

I have a TX2560 M2 Primergy server and the goal is to connect 4 NVMe U.2 SSDs to the system using the following adapter - S26361-D3262-A100 (PCIESW_X16_4X4). I have already bought the adapter, the necessary cables (Mini SAS HD to U.2) and two Samsung PM9A3 2.5" U.2 disks. I am placing the disks each in its own caddy at the very top 3,5" bay. I take power directly from one of the backplanes via this cable T26139-Y3930-V601(LTG SATA FULL PWR) and use this splitter (https://www.delock.com/produkt/60105/merkmale.html) to provide power to 2 drives. When I connect everything as described above and boot the system, the drives do not show up in Windows. I measured the volts coming from the backplane power port and it turns out that it provides 5V and 12V which are ok to power conventional HDDs, but it turns out that the NVMe disks require 3.3V along with 12V. Where can I get these 3.3Volts from and be able to power my disks?

Thank you very much for the help in advance,

Regards,

Vladimir

Hello,

Thank you very much for the feedback!

Does that mean that using the parts that you specified - the power cable, the PCIE SSD Backplane and the Mini-SAS HD PCIe SSD Cable I will be able to connect the drives successfully and see them in the OS?

Thanks a lot,

Regards,

Vladimir

Hello,

I bought a refurbished RX2560 M2 server that has all the parts specified by you above. When I insert a NVMe SSD (Intel DC P4510 series) in the first slot and start the system, the HDD led on the caddy immediately starts blinking at a constant pace and the system freezes at POST. It wouldn't go into BIOS also. Looking at the System Event Log I see the following error:

Thu 23 Mar 2023 10:35:08 AM Critical 08009B Watchdog BIOS POST Watchdog - Action: Power Cycle (Post Code: 0x92) System Hang

I need help with this please.

PS: Could you please also share a list of PCIe SSDs that are compatible with TX/RX2560 M2 system?
It may be the case that the Intel SSD that I am trying with cannot be recognized because is incompatible with the system.

Thanks,

Regards,

Vladimir
