HI all!
I bought for learning and testing a TX300 S8 with a FTS Raid Ctrl SAS 6G 1GB (D3116).
I've added 2x2TB SAS Disks to my server and 3 8TB SATA Disks - 2 of the 8TB are new ones (Seagate Ironwolf 8TB).
I get everyday at different times a warning from the two new disks in Serverview Raid Manager:
Error ID: 10909 - unexpected sense code Drive(3)
Error ID: 10909 - unexpected sense code Drive(2)
and
Error ID: 10537 - Reset on drive(3) (type 3)
Error ID: 10537 - Reset on drive(2) (type 3)
I get no errors at all on all other disks.
Those errors appear daily on different times - 10 am or 2am .. where is no load at all at the server
I dont think that both disks are bad: there are no smart errors - only misc errors on disk 2:
199 and on disk 3: 243 right now.
I think it is a problem of the controller software which is too old.
FW Version: 3.220.125-2420
Date: Apr 19 2013
I've installed an esxi 6.7 (fujitsu image) on the server and added the created logical disks to my virtual maschines.
I am a complete noob at servers and don't know how to upgrade the servers raid controller firmware without destroying my configuration.
Can anyone here explain me please how to upgrade the firmware of the controller to the newest one?
Best would be with a link to the right firmware for my controller, all I've found till now is the firmware for the raidcontroller on the board which I don't use. and if I see a D3116 firmware it is mostly for D3116C < I don't have C or am I wrong?
Thanks to all out there for reading and helping all of us!
Regards
Stev
