I have a Fujitsu Primergy TX1320 M2 with a D3373-Ax mainboard.
This mainboard supports Intel Skylake family processors in its 1151 socket, for example Xeon E3-1230v5.
Mainboards of other manufacturers support the newer Intel Kabylake processors in the same 1151 socket with the same Intel C236 chipset after a BIOS update.
Does Fujitsu offer a BIOS update for the TX1320 M2 to support the newer Kabylake processors, for example Xeon E3-1230v6? I could not find one on the official support pages, so I guess they do not support it officially.
However, the newer Fujitsu Primergy TX1330 M3 has a almost identical D3373-Bx mainboard.
Would it be possible to update the D3373-Ax mainboard with a BIOS rom file for the D3373-Bx mainboard? After that, I would have to replace the v5 processor with a v6 processor and reboot.
Is it possible to test the BIOS update and (if it fails) restore the BIOS in iRMC?
