RX300 S4, Error general protection fault

Postby JmPardo23 » Fri Apr 10, 2015 9:49

Hi

I have a Futjisu Siemens RX300 S4 server unbootable. After starting the BIOS, this message appears: "Error: General Protection Fault at 0D00:071B"
I have done tests with the memory modules, storage RAID 1 and seems right. I updated the BIOS to the latest version and has not been solved. I can not boot from CD because the error message as loading the BIOS.

I would appreciate any help.

Regards

Hi

Did anyone can help me? Since your experience I think it's a hardware fault ? How to diagnose that component?

What exactly do you mean with "After starting the BIOS,..."?

Are you referring to the system Power-On Selt Test, or when you try to enter BIOS setup interface (F2, F8, ...)?

The address 0D00:071B seems to point to the option ROM of an installed PCI adapter. If that assumption was correct, you might want to try to remove what's fitted into the box, and re-insert one after the other.

I don't know if memory serves me well, but in ancient s4, is there perhaps a parameter "Reset PCI configuration" in BIOS somewhere?
