[RX300S4] RAID CONTROLLER CARD PROBLEM?

Postby p.efstratiou » Fri Mar 21, 2014 13:46

Hi all

I'm having troubles booting up my server, it restarts at the point where it should display the raid controller screen initializing, some times it shows the screen and freezes there while no activity from the disks. After several resets and it boots normally, then i can enter the webbios and all physical hard drives seems ok, so do the raid volume, the server boots to the OS andit restarts fine for a while. However if close the server diconnect power for a couple of hours and boot it up the same occurs.

Any ideas? I am thinking of replacing the raid controller card.

Is your iRMC reporting any errors on the PCI bus?

Do you mean replacing the CMOS battery already solved your issue?

In case I misinterpreted your reply, and the issue still persists, you also might want to consider removing all additional PCI cards, disconnect all external devices (except keyboard and monitor, of course), and retry a few reboots with minimal configuration.

In times when your system booted successfully, did you have look at the RAID controller's log?

The cmos battery didn't solve my problem
I already tried minimal configuration. Only monitor not even keyboard.
the controller didn't log any error.
i am thinking of upgrading bios and raid controller firmware.
Any suggestions on the right order?
