TX1310 M1, D3219-A1x: UFM connector pinout

Postby mforkel » Mon Jan 17, 2022 16:21

My PRIMERGY TX1310 M1 has a D3119-A1x motherboard with a 9-pin IDC connector for UFM (USB flash module). According to the information about UFM devices that I found, that 9-pin connector should have the following pinout: 1 - VCC / USB Power, 3 - USB- / data, 5 - USB+ / data, 7 - VSS / ground. According to this wiki, the UFM connector actually provides 2 USB ports. Could anyone comment on this or point me to the documentation for the D3119-A1x motherboard? Thanks!

Hello :)

Please find an excerpt of MB specification regarding the pinout of the USB UFM connector attached. It provides just one USB "lane" since UFM modules did not require a second data connection. The pin layout follows the common specification for internal USB connectors.

Thanks for the pinout.

I actually managed to connect a front panel to the connector that uses 2 USB ports. So on my mainboard I have
- port 1: 1 - VCC / +5V, 3 - USB- / data, 5 - USB+ / data, 7 - VSS / ground
- port 2: 2 - VCC / +5V, 4 - USB- / data, 6 - USB+ / data, 8 - VSS / ground

I don't know about pin 10. It might be ground for shielding. Of course, this use is off warranty, so use at your own risk :) .
