Port Replicator Graphics

Postby gavod » Wed Apr 07, 2021 10:09

I'm looking at the specs for the PR09 (USB connected) port replicator.
https://www.fujitsu.com/fts/products/co ... -pr09.html
Is the graphics capability limited by the spec of the connected laptop (i.e. is it a simple pass-through) or does it increase capability to the stated spec?
For example, if I hook up a laptop that does 4096x2160 at 30Hz, will it increase the refresh rate to the stated 4096x2160 at 60Hz?
Similarly, is it capable of increasing the resolution to 4096x2160 if the laptop has a lower spec?

Dear Gavod

According to our team, it largely depends on the performance and specifications of the graphics card and the external monitor(s) connected to the port replicator.
Secondly, it may depend on your notebook's system limitations.

The data shown in the datasheet of the USB port replicator PR09 is the maximum that can be achieved. However, it does not depend on the port replicator if this maximum will be achieved, but on the graphics card specs and configuration of the devices connected to it.

Best regards
