Should be quieter. With the fan speed turned down, you wont be able to hear it. Heck mine is turned up and I still can't hear it.... 8)

I have always just used the paste which comes with the fan. But the boys seam to rave about Arctic silver 5 http://www.ebuyer.com/search/?qfind=thermal+paste When installing the fan, rub paste into the base of the fan. Wipe of the paste, this is just to fill microscopic scratches and pits. On the CP...

http://www.ebuyer.com My current Zalman is huge and is heavy. But as I don't throw the case around I can't see its going to be a problem. The big advantage to a larger fan is that the rpm can be low so reducing noise. Smaller the fan the faster they have to go, the noisier they get I think what you ...

I think its one of the best improvements you can do, Replacing the CPU fan. I have always been happy with Zalman. There are many other good makes, Scythe, Coolermaster, Artic cooling etc. The thing you have to watch out for is, Zalmans are big. Make sure you have enough space in the case for it to f...

This is a forum for people who have problems, so you will get a lot of complaints here. Buying a computer isn't cheep, and it goes wrong. Any one is going to be anoye...

It is most likely that the CPU fan has a thermal pad rather than thermal paste. Takeing the fan off and replacing the thermal pad, with a good quality paste and refit the fan. will get you a usefull drop in temp. BUT IF YOU ARE NOT GOOD WITH COMPUTERS THEN DON'T MESS AROUND ....Also F/S might not be...

It's most likely to be the refresh rate is set to high for the monitor. Boot into safe mode and drop the refresh rate. Most monitors are 60hz, some 75hz. See your monitor specs to see what the native screen size is and the corect refresh rate.....

Hi, sorry about delay in answering. I’ve got a bad cold and have been laid up for a couple of days, Sniff, Sniff :( When through the boot up does it hang, at the beginning or near the end? Will it boot in to safe made? If you have a old graphics card, try that in and see what happens. You say you ha...

Most new graphics cards have a extra power suply on the card. The reason is that the card needs more power than the MOBO can suply. If you do not conect the extra power suply, the system will hang. Well mine does... I don't know your mobo, but most newish MOBO's apart from the main power conector, t...

32 bit windows O/S can only see a maximum of 4gb. So windows XP or Vista will reduce ram size to account for things like graphics cards that neeed access to memory.

64bit O/S can see more that 4gb. I suspect that it is you graphics taking some of your ram....
