Re: Eternus DX100 S3 Maintenance mode missing

You'd probably get more replies if you posted this the storage sub forum rather than servers but here goes ... To enter maintenance mode you need to be a maintenance user. Despite the name "root" isn't an all-powerful user on ETERNUS You need to login as the maintenance user f.ce - or use ...

Re: Raid 1

You will need to make the new disk a single disk RAID0 to make it visible to the operating system To do this you can either use the CTRL-M BIOS time utility, or of you have ServerView RAID manager installed on Windows you can use that. As long as you do it right, the original RAID1 will be unaffecte...

Re: Fujitsu healt application

Fujitsu supply ServerView with every server (for free apart from some advaned options) For monitoring larger estates of servers then ServerView Operations Manager would be the utility to use - a graphical front end to monitor multiple servers. For single server operation the ServerView Agents includ...

Re: CSS Led Orange

It sounds like the BBU has just failed - but I would also check the firmware level of the RAID controller and update to the latest. There were problems with BBU handling in old versions of the firmware. It may well be that the BBU needs to be replaced anyway but running the latest firmware for the c...

Re: sas unconfigured bad

The red light is an ERROR light. This means the disk has an ERROR. It does not mean if you unplug it and re-plug it .. no matter how carefully .. it will NOT suddenly fix itself. It has an ERROR Moving it to another slot does not mean it will fix itself. It has an ERROR unconfigured bad is another c...

Re: Econel 200 S2 Raid migration

Econel 200 S2 doesn't support RAID5 unless the optional iButton (enabler) is fitted. Even if it is, it is very much a software-like RIAD5 with no supporting cache or co-processors so not the best solution anyway. Can't find if it will support migration to RAID10 but from RAID1 you'd obviously have t...

Re: Econel 200 S2 Raid migration

Typically RAID manager knows what levels of migration controllers support. If it doesn't offer it then suggests it's not supported. What levels were you thinking of migrating from/to?

Re: TX2540 Fan Noise

Check the fan speeds and cabinet temperatures from ServerView or iRMC You say it's not fans running at maximum speed as in fan test, so that suggests they are already at reduced speed. Comparing to a TX140 seems hardly fair. A single CPU server with one fan, or a dual socket server with 4 fans? Whic...

Re: different hdd size...

If you are using the onboard SATA RAID (which only supports 4 disks) then you can't do it as you describe. You can't "grow" a RAID1 in that way. All you could do would be to backup the data from the 2nd volume, destroy the 2nd RAID, put two new disks in and create a new (bigger) RAID1 and ...

Take a look at the cabling diagrams in the online illustrated spares guide http://manuals.ts.fujitsu.com/illustrat ... .htm?id=40

There is a picture of the I2C cable which connects the front panel and ID/Temp card to the motherboard

Re: D2616 - IT Mode

As far as I know the only way to acheive this is to configure ALL drives as single-disk RAID0. The card and firmware as supplied by FJ do not support "pass through" disks
