How old is the router? Some old ones are probably incapable of using the Vista Networking interface, which causes it to lose connection. Have a look at the router's website and see if new firmware is available for Vista, and maybe you should try different Wi-Fi channels, I think between 1 and 6 is t...

Could be hardware.

You tried updating drivers?

How long does the actual flashing take before the screen returns to normal?

What sort of applications are you running when the flashing occurs?

Do you play Games on the laptop?

Have you recently installed some updates?

If you are going to install XP, make sure your Vista driver files are backed up.

Especially the wireless ones, as these are VERY hard to find for XP, if your notebook was dispatched with Vista!!! But if you don't use wireless you should be ok.

No idea which version I have and I would prefer not to touch the BIOS.

Guess I'll just have to stop using the sleep mode.

Thanks,

[AMILO Li1718] USB stops working, when NB put to sleep.

Hello all, Amilo Li 1718. Strange thing where whenever I put the notebook to sleep in Vista, when I resume, the USB ports seem "cut off" and will not operate, and Vista tells me that a USB device has malfunctioned, reboot the laptop and the ports work fine :? Just slightly annoying when I ...

Re: BIOS update

Gruß Bert This is the English speaking f...

Lets just wait for the new one!!!!

Probably just get into the same state once that ages and is filled with topics. What amazes me is that its still slow even though no bugger is on it!

I don't see why not. As long as you have the correct XP disks, everything should be fine. If it works fine with Windows Vista, there shouldn't be any problems with XP, requirements wise. Although whatever you do, make sure you will be able to get the drivers for all the bits and bobs in your noteboo...

1. Are you English?
2. You are in the English forum, so why can't you understand the forum?

Simple, really.

Messages still in the Outbox mean that the message has not yet been read by the person that you have sent it to..

So really it seems that FSC are very clever people.

There is one.

Log in and at the top the toolbar should look like this.

You have (......) messages. Log out [profile-name] and then SEARCH!

Just click that, type in your query and off you pop.

Matt
