Well... the spec on the 945GM/PM does indeed state that UP TO 4GB (at 533MHz) is supported, compared to only 2GB supported by the last generation 915GM/PM.
But...
Everywhere I have looked I get the same response, the Pi1536 will only support a maximum of 2GB DDR2 533MHz...

If you still have the same problem after cleaning out the fan and checking it is working correctly, have you thought about getting a laptop cooling pad ?
They are fairly cheap and may help :wink:

The Amilo Li 1718 will support 2048MB of RAM.
Link to crucial site below which shows the various options available and an idea of prices, I would prefer not to recommend a place or shop to carry out the work though.

Hi shamanda, as far as I am aware the A1650 supports 1024MB only, I had a look at crucial and that seems to be their opinion also:

A thought, can you access and navigate the BIOS on startup using the keyboard ?

I'm wondering if the laptop is urs why is locked and why you dont know the password?! Untill i dont get answer at this guestiong i cant help


I think he knows the login password shamanda, he just cannot enter it as his mouse and keyboard don't work :)
