Re: Hardware Question Wifi

That's strange. Most "new" notebooks have two antennas concted to the WLAN card. This is to give you a beter reception. Nevertheless it should even work only with one antenna connected - you might have a poorer reception, but still it has to work. But still you say that your Vista doesn't ...

Re: AC connection or interior DC pin?

It is possible that the power is breaking due to a loose/faulty soldering on the DC plug - I have seen that on few occasions. The notebook had to be taken apart and the DC plug had to be resoldered on the mainboard. It's not brain surgery, but you have to be carefull couse you can do a lot of damage...

Re: motherboard upgrade for Amilo K7610W

Sell it and buy a new notebook. You can't upgrade the motherboard.

On some notebooks you can upgrade the RAM and CPU, but even that is limited and you won't be able to have the latest CPU in your K7610W.

Re: Amilo M1437G - Unable to detect new Sata II Harddisk

Is your new HDD detected in the BIOS and only XP installation can't findis? Or is you new HDD not even detected in the BIOS?

Do you have any chance to hook up the new HDD to another PC/notebook - just to try if the disk itself works?

Re: [s7110] Installed 2x2gb bios detect 3.3gb

No can do. I have the same issue and I have explored it and it is infact a hardware limitation. You can find my post about this issue here.

There is nothing you or Fujitsu can do to fix this (unles if you get Fujitsu to give you a newer notebook).

Re: Boot from USB

It definetly must have the option to boot from USB, otherwise there is no way to install OS. 1) Are you sure that your USB device is bootable (have you tried it on a different pc/notebook). 2) Did you have the USB device plugged in while you were checking the BIOS settings (it has to be plugged in i...

Re: Make a linux installation

I haven't yet have the pleasure of playing with an Amilo Mini, but when I get my hands on one I'll definetly try how Ubuntu Netbook Remix works on it. If you have the time, give it a try and post your feedback here.

Re: [S6010] modular bay

S26391-F405-L200 is the FSC code for the 2nd battery that you need. Here you can find more details (although your model is not listed, but it is the same).

Re: [S6010] modular bay

S6010 already has the Lifebook family media bay. This means that the current Lifebooks models have the same media bay as your S6010. So if you google for 2nd battery lifebook you will find it. I know that these models are compatible 100% with S6010 (regarding the 2nd battery): -S6120, S7010, S7020, ...

Hhin black wire is usually WLAN. But there are always two wires. One black and one white/gray. They connect on the WLAN module. This picture shows the wlan module and the two wires connected on it. If your wire has this kind of plug it's WLAN http://www.hardwarezone.com/img/data/articles/2003/721/Wi...

Re: help for install vista on m1437

Mate, save yourself the Vista saga and stick to Windows XP.

But if you must know, Vista is officially not supported on your notebook (means no original drivers). But you can try and install it and you'll see if Vista is missing any drivers. If yes, you'll have to google for them...

Re: [Li 2727] Windows Xp x64 install

Off the top of my head, I'd say no go. Li2727 does not have x64 compatible/capable CPU, so you won't be able to install XP x64 on it.

Re: [Li2727] problem installing WinXP Home over Vista Basic

Hi Adnan,
have you booted from the "nlited" CD or did you ran the installation within your existing Vista installation? To Install XP, you have to shut down Vista and BOOT from the CD.
