I'd also like to know if another fan is available for this motherboard, as the fann makes a nasty whirring sound when scanning for viruses/playing games etc.

Is it supposed to be like this?
I suppose it keeps my CPU/motherboard fan cool, which is the main thing.

It can't of been build of up dust on the Scaleo P I had before, as it died within 4 hours of purchasing it! It shut itself down, and wouldn't turn back on. Maybe it got too hot, but it wasn't due to dust, as it was brand new.

It's true that PC World and Comet do regulary post the wrong information for products. The Scaleo P I have now was supposed to have a nVidia GeForce 6200 graphics card according to the information I was given, but it actually came with an ATI Radeon X550 graphics card. They also don't give you any i...

The 3602XP is definitely a Scaleo, and it's probably a Scaleo P. If you want more information than the website provides, then I suppose you'll have to pop along to PC World and ask them (or phone/email them).

The first Scaleo P I bought packed in the night I bough it, it just swithced off and then wouldn't start up. So I got a refund and bought another one, have had it for 2 or so months and haven't had any problems since. Hope it will be reliable! (PS: It would be interesting to know what motherboard an...

This forum is for users helping other users. Fujitsu-Siemens Computers make that clear when you enter the forum, so don't expect any input from them.
I cannot comment on the helpline as I have not used it.

Your DVD drive must just like well-known brans of media then. If you stick with well known brands, then you should be fine.

You should be able to use any type of branded media (Memorex, Verbatim, TDK etc), unless of course you have a faulty drive. What type (brands) of CDs don't work in your drive? What types (brands) do work? I've heard that the HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GWA-4164B is not a bad drive, so it shouldn't be that the d...

Yes, that is the right CD to use, if it came in the packet with the green Windows XP help booklet with it.

You should be able to burn CDs/DVDs in your HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GWA-4164B (the LG drive).

What errors does the software give? Have you configured the software/drive correctly?

If you wish to completely format your hard drive, then I suggest you use the Windows XP CD and then install the drivers and Programs afterwards. So, to do this go to your BIOS (press Del on startup), and set your primary boot device to DVD/CD. Then reboot your computer, with the Windows XP CD in the...

Boot Windows XP into Safe Mode by tapping F8 lots of times at startup. Choose Safe Mode in the list and press Enter. (Note: if you get a keyboard error, then tap F8 after the post screen has come up). Uninstall one or both of the antivirus programs and try again. Or use the System Restore utility (i...

Have a look at your recovery computer manuals and see what they say. Can you tell me exactly what the options are? How big is your hard drive?

Which disk exactly is it that you are inserting?

If you're running a game, then it's normal for the game to be taking up 100% of your CPU power. Knuffa is right, it's probably your graphics card. Onboard graphics cards just can't hande games very well. If you're that desperate, then buying a different graphics card should fix the problem. Hope tha...
