Thought I'd fixed it, but today got a load of errors in Event Viewer. I enabled my CD-ROM drive in the BIOS again and it worked for a while fine, but now it's still freezing

Thanks

Thanks very much for your quick reply. I don't particulary want to open up the case and start messing around as that will void my warranty, but It's probably a cable issue, although it only happens sometimes which is strange. Anyway, BIOS keeps on freezing after it detects the NEC drive as FEC, so I...

Cdrom Controller Error

Hi. I've recently (for about 2 weeks) been experiencing lock ups for about a minute each, and sometimes my DVD-RAM isn't detected in the BIOS, or when it is it's detected as a FEC_ND-4550A when actually it's a NEC ND-4550A :? which is a bit strange. When I get lockups, I get error messages in my Eve...

If you know what BIOS you have (eg Phoenix, AMI) then you can look on the internet for BIOS beep codes. Your BIOS is PROBABLY a Phoenix BIOS (judging by the beep codes), and any combination of beep codes after 2 beeps and a pause, means that there is something wrong with your memory (RAM). But you m...

If you have forgotten the BIOS password, then take the CMOS battery off the motherboard, wait a few minutes and put it back on (if you know how to do this). It'll reset all BIOS settings back to their defaults. You can use software to find out the BIOS password, but I don't know if any of it works. ...

If you want help from Fujitsu-Siemens then the forum is not the place to get it. They clearly state when you go into the forum that it is "users helping users". So you'll have to contact them yourself, not on the forum. Other users may know a suggestion however.

Hope that helps.

I can see your point, and my Scaleo P does have a noisy fan when playing games/scanning for viruses etc, but I'd rather have a noisy fan and a cool CPU than a quiet fan and an overheating CPU! I can understand why you're urging people not to buy a Fujitsu-Siemens PC, but there are problems with all ...

Make sure you unzip the drivers to an obvious place on your hard drive - ie make a folder on C: (or your main Hard drive) and call it Sound Driver. Then in device manager, right click on the unknown device, and press update driver. Then follow the wizard, but use the "Install the software from ...

You might be able to underclock the CPU in the BIOS, and you can change the fan settings, although this is not recommended as you could make the CPU overheat. Not very good ideas, but that's the best you can do if you don't want to fit a new fan. You can't tell everyone not to buy any Fujitsu-Siemen...

If you go to this page http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/com/support/downloads.html then you can type in the serial number which you posted, and get all the drivers for your computer. That website can be accessed also if you go to the Fujitsu-Siemens main website, click on support and then click on...

Try going to this website and selecting your game (if it's on the list).

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest

It should tell you if your computer can run the game well, and what you can do to improve it.

OK, thanks very much, i'll just leave it all alone, and if the temps get any higher, I might take action in a few years!

Thanks again

Hey again. Thanks for the help! I'm not sure that my BIOS is actually reporting the correct temperature. I made the fan go onto the higher speed setting (3330RPM rather than 1300RPM), and the CPU temperature is still in the 60s/high 50s at idle. The chassis fan is running at 2250RPM. I can't seem to...

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Running too hot?

I've recently just noticed that on my 3 month old Scaleo P, when I looked in the BIOS on startup, it said that my AMD Athlond 64 3200+ was at 63 degrees celcius. My ASUS A8NE-FM motherboard was running at 39, and my Hard drive at 29. Are these temperatures (especially the CPU) too hot? This is the I...
