Re: Vulnerable to Spectre: YES!

Well yes, t.b.d but the microcode update released 12th March 2018 runs fine for my A512 with ivy bridge i3-3110M. the same microcode update also covers sandy bridge as well as ivy bridge Yes, I'm running Linux to be able to state that fact but it means Fujitsu will have something stable to patch the...

Re: Lifebook a514 wont boot Windows 10

You may do better creating a bootable USB stick from the downloaded ISO. Especially if you have managed to use the DVD to boot in another machine. Reason being, the DVD drive may be faulty so failing to read the media properly and not loading all data needed to progress with the install. I've worn o...

A512 - KRACK Vulnerability

Adaptor: Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230 Anyone know if this device will be patched for the KRACK vulnerability? I think it won't seeing as Intel have assigned it legacy device status now but was wondering if anyone had come across updated information. Currently installing drivers from the Inte...

Re: Hard drive replacement, Lifebook AH531

Go for an SSD. Well worth it, they are faster and consume less power than mechanical drives. the reliability is as good now too. Crucial's MX300 or BX300 series are compatible. The MX is older and slightly slower than the new BX series read speed wise, the difference is 25MB/s. Write speeds are iden...

From what you describe, dirty or damaged battery contacts (the notebook) seems the most likely culprit

Re: The new keyboard for laptop Fujitsu S904

depending on the specific language layout of the keyboard you need, try ebay as it is your best chance of finding a replacement keyboard. That model seems region specific, so also try online spare parts specialists in the Asia Pacific region. If they don't list your particular model, send them an em...

Re: NH532 dead after bio uppgrade

it may also be necessary to remove the internal CMOS battery for minimum 30 seconds if accessible like in the A512 from the removable service panel underneath to totally reset the firmware

Re: My Laptop not Charging

some more things to check try the 'working' laptop's power brick on the supposedly faulty one just to rule out any potential issue with the power brick itself. We had an ASUS F3Sr power brick start failing, the screen would flicker (old style backlight not LED), it would trickle charge the battery o...

Re: [LIFEBOOK BH531] - Audio services not responding in Win10

try the drivers listed from this site. while it is third party, the actual drivers are still on Fujitsu's own download servers. It lists all the correct drivers for the BH531. http://www.driverlaptopdownload.com/2016/11/fujitsu-lifebook-bh531-drivers-for.html installing the Realtek package may make ...

Re: A512 - DeskUpdate False Detection Issue - Intel Display Audio

I've extracted the Display Audio Driver using 7-Zip from the Intel HD 4000 driver package below. Seems to work fine, the Display driver itself is NOT suitable for the notebook. Just use the Display Audio Driver if you feel the need to update it. Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows* [15.33] Version: 1...

Re: Hotkeys on Windows 10 [solved]

glad to help, partly. I did try W10, even creators update as I have an ISO. I'm sticking with W8.1 though personally through preference and will re-partition and replace it with Fedora or CentOS. Both work flawlessly with the hardware in the A512.
