Re: Meltdown / Spectre BIOS Update for Esprimo Q900

Just going of what every other manufacturer are doing... No. No, there will be no updates for a device this old. My NEWEST system is equipped with the same era CPU, so generally from the same time frame. Out of the 7 different system, or motherboard manufacturers i've been in contact with, 100% have...

Re: Scaleo J (GA-K8RS482M)

Lacking some specs, but i'm guessing it's a close relative to GA-K8RS482M-FS-02. That would mean "Socket 939 for AMD AlthlonTM 64 / 64FX / Sempron processor (K8)" With the help of your serial number, go find out what BIOS updates you got available, usually there is some hint's in the docum...

Re: Forum activity?

I can only speak for my self. But, the way things are, you cant get jack all in form of support for a older unit, and a lot, if not all, the questions on this forum is pretty straightforward support issues that doesn't strictly fall under warranty issues. Nobody says that a service / support tech ha...

Re: A7640w

As far as i know, AMD switched socket, so there are no Turion X2 CPU's that fits. (They went from a mobile 754 socket, to a S1G1/S1G2 thing. Mainly due to tacking on a second memory channel to the integrated memory controller.) Seeing as i can confirm that the ML-40 is still working in my laptop, it...

Re: Amilo A7640

I think you need to look at external sources for your information. Fujitsu personnel hardly bother with a single response in this section, and when they do, it's a "sorry, cant help ya" thing 99% of the time.

Re: A7640w

I stuck a pair of A-data DDR400 2.5v 1GB memory in mine since the above post. Works like a charm. Tried a pair of Kingston DDR400 1GB parts, that didn't specify voltage, that didn't work. (memory is ok, just doesn't work in the laptop, i suspect they want 2.6v) Stuck a ML-40 in it, also works as a c...

Re: Forum activity?

Sadly i would have to agree. Now, i rarely buy computer hardware new, and hence have to do with whatever i buy second hand or get gifted, but on the other hand i rarely need support. I keep being stupid enough to look to the manufacturer for tech resources, but generally speaking i don't "need&...

Re: ProjectID Incorrect when update the bios !

"irql not less or equal" is usually brought on by bad drivers. In this case, most likely Windows7 doesn't have the right driver and the one that gets autodetected to "fit" isn't exactly what the hardware needs. But then again, it isn't totally uncommon for the same error to be ou...

Re: Amilo M1437G is BIOS/memory upgrade really not possible?

A 32bit OS will actually see, and use 4GB worth of adressing space. Some is lost on PCI busses and whatnot, but for a laptop, you should get at least 3.8GB memory thats adressable, and hence, usable. The 3GB thingy everyone gets mixed up with this issue is something else, and it's the max amount of ...

Re: A7640w

Please do. I have been unable to score a ML-44 so i've been holding of on the upgrade, but i did stick 2x 512MB memory in it. Works.

Re: Forum activity?

Funny. I reported the post above when i made it. Now, 10 days short of a month later someone actually managed to close the report ticket. Still not as much as a whisper in the thread tho. This forum just got upgraded. From a waste of time, to a total waste of time.

This is of course by far to late. But no, this is not the right memory type for your laptop.
Sorry.

Re: AMILO K7600

I'd stick CPU-Z on the system and check what it reads back as. But, as far as i know, the system original uses DDR 2100 SO-dimm's.
It's also supposed to support at most 1GB memory, but it's a fairly safe bet that it supports 2x 1GB modules. for a total of 2GB. 4GB, is a stretch, doubt it really.
