Re: Pa3553 Black screen, won't POST.

My laptop died.

It is the video chip. I tried everything, didn't work. Then I followed the guide posted here to "refloat" the solder of the mainboard and now my laptop is back. Like NEW!!!

Thanks!!!

Re: For everyone with Black screen on boot...

I can confirm that this worked on my PA3553. My laptop first started not booting and only booted after being left on blank screen for a while. It was intermitent, and then it became constant. My laptop stopped booting. The fan would come on, the camera led would go on/off with Fn+F7, but no boot, no...

Re: Pa3553 Black screen, won't POST.

Ha! So after trying all combinations (even a different hard drive) I noticed the problem was persistent and obviously hardware related. However, when the system DOES boot (eventually after the 10th try) I got a glimpse of a message after the POST screen. It read: Previous boot not completed. Loading...

Pa3553 Black screen, won't POST.

This is now happening for the past week. I press the button, lights come up, fan starts, DVD-Rom spins up, 2 seconds later, the fan stops. The lights stay on, the screen always blank. Now I can eject the DVD-Rom and switch the camera on and off (Funct-F7) but there is no evidence of the system booti...

Re: Amilo Notbook Pa 3553 Black screen

I think this is now becoming an issue with many 3553's. Mine does the same. I can hear the fan starting, the DVD-Rom spining, then, 2 seconds later, everything stops. The power button is lit, ditto the blue leds (power/battery/Wifi), the DVD-Rom does eject if I press the button, and the camera comes...

Re: [Pa 3553] not starting. Lid sensor problem

Not sure if this is any helpful but the camera LED comes on on a fresh boot if you have the battery replaced with a different one. So maybe you should check how it figures out there's a "new" battery. Like I said, I'm not sure if this can help you out.

Re: [Pa 3553] \BOOT\BCD error and no BIOS setup combined

If you can't get to BIOS to change boot priority then you need to use another HD to boot from. I know it's not the easiest way, but maybe your keyboard is dead (and thus F2/F12 is being ignored).

Re: Pa 3553 RAM memory question

The solution to this comes with a patched Windows Kernel. Look at this: http://www.unawave.de/windows-7-tipps/32-bit-ram-barrier.html?lang=EN I tested it on my PA3553 with 4GB RAM and from 2.22GB usable (very disappointing) I got 3.75GB usable which is great. 256MB is held for graphics and 2MB for I...

Solution to high amount of reserved RAM

This has been discussed here: http://forum.ts.fujitsu.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=42096 The solution is to use a patched Windows 7 kernel, that frees all RAM (only keeps 256MB for graphics). Look at this: http://www.unawave.de/windows-7-tipps/32-bit-ram-barrier.html?lang=EN This was tested on...

Re: Pa3553 Firewire port speed

The Pa3553 has an 1394a port, not b, i.e. 400Mbit/sec. However this is considerably faster than USB2.0 which although advertises a similar speed, it is severely capped by overhead, which limits the transfer speed to only 25MB/s. On top of that seek speed of hard drives connected through USB is also ...

Re: Pa 3553 - BIOS Backup

The PA3553 doesn't use an AMI bios so the utility you link doesn't work. AFAIK it uses a phoenix bios.

Re: [Pi3660] - WLAN in kubuntu

The problem seems to be that the Fn+F1 combination is a software key and not hard coded (like Fn+F7 for the camera). As such I couldn't find a solution either for my 3553. Luckily FSC posted a new Bios that held the WiFi on after a reboot. So I installed Windows, switched WiFi on with Fn+F1, then re...

Re: [Pa3515] won't start after flashing BIOS

Make sure you change it back to AHCI for max performance. Win7 are able to pick up the change after a reboot and install the right driver.

Re: AMILO PA3553

It's been less than 2 years since January 2009. Don't you have a minimum 2yr warranty in your area (EU)?
