Fan on CPU?

Hi there, one of the main problems with the Scaleo E is that it runs so insanely hot. I'm considering trying to change the gigantic heatsink over the processor to a smaller heatsink/fan combo, like I've had in all my previous PCs. Has anyone attempted this? If so, did you notice any difference? Is t...

Insane Keyboard Problem

Since I bought my Scaleo E I have been having problems with the wireless keyboard (or, more specifically, the rollerball). It would work okay for a little while (usually) but then the rollerball would become unresponsive, specifically it wouldn't move the pointer to the left. I assumed it was a roll...

Re: Intermittent total startup failure.

Still no solutions, Sir.

But it is nice to know I'm not the only victim...

Tried removing/replacing everything I can. No change.

Driving me up a f%^&%^g tree.

Intermittent total startup failure.

For the last few weeks now I've been experiencing a maddening, catastrophic intermittent fault with my Scaleo E. Whenever I try to start the PC up, the light comes on, as does the front panel, the fans all come on, and the HDD powers up, but nothing happens past that; it just sits there forever on a...

Graphics Cards: Final Confirmation

I'm looking to buy a new graphics card for my Scaleo E this weekend, and was hoping to get some *simple*, straight-forward answers to a couple of concerns I still have. 1. Can I buy * any * Low-profile, PCI graphics card for my Scaleo E and be fairly sure that it will work? 2. Where exactly will I b...

Vista Audio Drivers?

Hi all, I'm running Windows vista, using the standard audio driver that Windows supplies, but I'm only getting very basic options. My *main* problem is getting audio out. Primarily, the headphone socket doesn't work, and doesn't seem to exist as far a Windows is concerned. I tried using a scart bloc...

Vista MCE VS. XP MCE

Are there any significant differences? I would like to try XP MCE (have to assume it runs better than Vista...) but I'm a little worried about finding SATA drivers and I'm not sure if XP's version of Media Centre would now be lacking since I'm used to Vista's version. Have to assume that XP MCE woul...

Regarding the 250gb HDD size limit.

I'm currently running Windows Vista Ultimate from a 1 terabyte Maxtor drive (on a 50gb partition). The only reason I didn't try a smaller drive first is that I didn't actually *see* the alleged "restriction" until after I had installed Windows and got it all set up. I did have the same pro...

Re: Graphics card compatibility?

Also, will a new graphics card give me more screen resolutions?

My LCD TV has a native resolution of 1366x720 but I can't currently access that setting.
