[S7220] Scroll wheel disabled on external PS/2 mouse

I have just received my corporate Lifebook S7220, with docking station (or port replicator) which has a PS/2 port on it. I plug into the PS/2 port a splitter (Y-cable) with my Fujitsu-Siemens keyboard and Fujitsu-Siemens mouse (Logitech M-SBF69) on it. All works fine except for the scroll wheel. The...

I had an Amilo D1845 3.33 GHz. Running on a hard surface, fluff blown out of all grilles, the hard disk temperature rapidly climbed to over 50C and if doing a defrag or similar the disk temperature would reach 62C. This could be improved slightly by standing the laptop on a couple of CD cases to imp...

[Amilo D]Stolen notebooks Amilo D1845, Lifebook S6120

I don't need a reply, but I'm posting in case anyone Googles for these serial numbers. On Sunday night we had two laptops stolen by thieves who managed to operate the front door with a lever through the letterbox. They also took house keys, car keys and a Ford Focus. We live near Basingstoke, UK, an...

Have to log in twice

The first time I log in, it still shows everything as if I am not logged in. When I log in again, it is OK except that my last log-in time is shown as being the first time I logged in - only a minute before. So I get no information about new posts.

Any ideas?

From what I have seen, you are better off than with a Sony laptop. Sony don't tell you that, in some of their laptops, if you have two memory sticks when you flash, BIOS will be corrupted - and no way of recovering, as their BIOS also reprograms the keyboard controller, which is not in a socket. One...

If you clicked on the link in my previous post - distributed computing - you would be taken to a site that lists a number of projects. seti@home is one - the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence (at home). These projects use "spare" computing power on thousands of computers to help re...

Was it running seti@home or any other distributed computing project? If so you should be able to check its record to see whether it has connected in since being stolen and, if so, get the IP address.

I can't find any evidence of an Amilo 2661G on FSC and little on Google. Is the number from the label? Do you have a serial number that you can feed into the system? One Google hit suggests that the utility Everest reports A2661G for Uniwill P50CA (identical to Amilo 1667G, except without builtin Br...

The Fujitsu-Siemens choice appears/appeared to be the Panasonic UJ-820B - that's what they use as part of their Product No. FPCDRW07B which I use in both Lifebook S6120 and Lifebook E8010D However, this one was manufactured October 2004, so they may use something else now. That's AFAIK a single-laye...

Don't worry, that links through to the Fujitsu site - or it would do if phpBB could cope with brackets in the URL. Some of the other utilities might be of use, though.

For anyone else who stumbles across this post, the Fujitsu HDD support page is here.

Did you use the firmware upgrade tool at http://www.asci-red.net/tools.htm ? I.e. http://www.fis.fujitsu.com/support/disk/software/FujitsuHDDFlash(GenericVer101).exe I see there are some other diagnostics listed there that might be useful. What does Disk Manager say about the drive?
