Re: Drivers with No Internet

Do you know what brand of WLAN card you have? You can get Intel driver from their website, atheros and broadcom are troublesome to the point i prefer to just get wired LAN working, and let Windows update fetch the driver. I think M9x10 had also wired ethernet from Intel, so just head over to their s...

Re: [U9210] SD Card Reader

I might, but remember I have a U9200, not U9210, so you'll have to find a way how to disassemble the laptop and access the card reader yourself. In U9200, the card reader is on a small "daughter board" (separate from the mainboard) just beneath the metal plate under the keyboard. The cover...

Re: [U9210] SD Card Reader

I have some good news and bad news. The good news is, I managed to fix the problem on my card reader. 8) The bad news is the actual cause of the problem. It's not a bad contact with the card (any of the contacts visible from the outside) but rather bad contact on the card presence switch. Fixing inv...

Re: ODD FW update for Esprimo U9200

I'm surprised you have this "GSAT20N" in your laptop at all. I have a TS-L632 and don't even see a download on fujitsu's support page - are you sure this drive was supplied by fujitsu? :? That said, if the updater is "hardwired" to look for the drive at a certain location (might ...

[U9200] Improving the paltry audio performance?

Has anyone tried to improve the audio performance of U9200's built-in speakers? I've noticed that even my mobile phone's loudspeaker performs better than the laptop's pathetic noise-holes. One can get these speakers as phone spare parts from many suppliers, or salvage them from old phones (if a pair...

Re: Esprimo Mobile U9200 CPU upgrade

Likewise - I'm having no stability problems at all, and I was putting it under a lot of stress a few weeks ago (when it was really hot here), such as running boinc projects (100% CPU) at room temperature of 28°C with the lid closed (I'm using external monitor). Temperature sensors showed CPU die tem...

Another successful upgrade! :) Took over an hour to memtest (phew).

Re: Esprimo Mobile U9210 (S118D), webcam not found

I just observed on my U9200 that what is configured in BIOS setup is of little significance to what devices OS actually sees (I disabled the webcam, then re-enabled it only to find it missing). More shockingly, the webcam utility in Windows actually responded to the keyboard shortcuts even if the we...

Re: [U9200] Recharge problem

What are you using to measure the charging rate (some Gnome applet, I assume)? The charging rate decreases significantly as the battery approaches full charge, that's normal . If you're seeing this low rate with less-charged battery, say at 50% (and a new battery at that), that may be a cause for co...

Re: bios beeps

esprimo U9200 hello, anyone know what a "one short, high-pitch beep every 7 minutes" bios warning means? thanks 7 minutes ??? Are you sure it's not just booting improperly and then restarting? According to this list , Phoenix uses "a series of sequences" for error beep codes - a...

Re: 8 GiB RAM for GM965-based laptops? [U9200, M9400, D9500]

I successfully bought und installed 2 * 4GB ram and got them working with the full 8GB amount on my U9200 with Win7 64. They were the cheapest around (89€ for the Kit) and advertised as DDR2-800 (PC2-6400) SO-DIMM 256Mx8x16 double side - so I assume no special chips or anything like that required. ...

Re: [v5535] RAM Upgrade Question

Guys, Does it support 800Mhz or higher RAM? Faster modules have no problems running at lower speeds. What the laptop "supports" is not relevant in this regard. Does it support DDR3 or only DDR2? Those are different technologies and, if I'm not mistaken, physically incompatible. See datash...

Kobus: The SIM slot is in all these laptops, whether they have the modem or not - it's not part of the add-in modem card. See here - the SIM contacts are part of the interface to the card, which enables laptop makers to put the slot anywhere on the laptop regardless of where they put the modem. As f...

Re: [U9210] SD Card Reader

This seems to be hardware problem - I have the same thing happening on my U9200. The reader performed OK when the laptop was new, then began to exhibit this behavior around the end of the warranty period (of course... :( ). First you should try cleaning the contacts on the card and maybe blow some a...

Re: Esprimo Mobile U9200 CPU upgrade

Disclaimer: I have zero experience with upgrading CPUs in laptops. Not anymore. Upgraded to T9300 (a part Fujitsu shipped this laptop with later in its life cycle), no frills. Open the case, remove old CPU, put in the new one, (re-)apply thermal paste, put everything back together and you're good t...
