Re: Media error in ServerView

ServerView is designed to be used with either Fujitsu ROK versions of the Windows media, or standard Microsoft retail media. If you are using media such as volume licensing or eval copies, then the results could be undefined. It may or may not work. Best bet is to find your necessary RAID drivers fr...

Re: adding hot spares - advice needed

If you have the 24 disk variant then I'm guessing you have a SAS expander in there (check the internal cabling - instead of cables from the controller to the disk backplane you will see them go to a small daughter card on the motherboard and from there to the backplane. Although you only have an 8 p...

Re: adding hot spares - advice needed

Yes it should be easy assuming you have space for the two new disks. Just insert them and then use ServerView RAID manager to add them as hot spares. I think you RIGHT click on the two unused disks (one at a time) and the option is there - I don't have a copy to hand right now to tell you exactly ho...

Re: RAID 1 faulty drive replacement

Should just be as simple as you suggest (and hope) - good idea to check the serial number first! As long as the new disk is compatible, once the server boots up again it should start the rebuild automatically - you can monitor the progress in RAID manager. If it doesn't it may be because the new dis...

Re: What os you have on Primergy 1310?

ESXi definitely not supported - and you'd never get it to work with the onboard RAID enabled as ESX doesn't support SATA RAID. I don't think a plug in SAS card is supported in that server either so your only hope would be to run in non-RAID mode. Still unsupported though

Re: ServerView Suite

Installation manager will help you deploy an operating system onto either a physical or virtual server but it must be a PRIMERGY (no third party servers are supported) Agents must be installed on the physical host (not a VM) As I said earlier, RAID manager can be installed on a VM - you just need to...

Re: ServerView Suite

Hi JKA - lots of questions! You are basically correct. The whole ServerView suite is a collection of programs, all with different functions, which together make a whole family of utilities These components can be summed up as follows... 1) ServerView Installation Manager: This is the bootable CD tha...

Re: server tx1310m3

If your BIOS is set to UEFI mode (which is now default) then instead of getting the CTRL-M prompt for the RAID BIOS, it is instead found at the bottom of the Advanced tab in the main F2 BIOS. Or you can set it to legacy BIOS which will make it behave the old way Or you can boot off ServerView CD and...

Re: TX100 S3p reports hardware failure

Understand what you are saying about "generic" drivers .. EXCEPT ....

If you are running the onboard RAID controller then generic drivers won't work - you need the proper LSI driver. If you disable the onboard RAID and run it in AHCI mode instead then you need no drivers

Re: TX100 S3p reports hardware failure

Firstly, desktop operating systems aren't supported on a server so there will be no Windows 7 drivers available for this - you are probably running Win 2008 R2 drivers which may or may not be compatible with Windows 7 Your BSOD should give a stop code and brief description of the error - for example...

Re: FTS RAID Ctrl SAS 6G 1GB (D3116C) firmware update

The firmware for this card (other than updating via Windows) is only available on the Update DVD available on the download site under "Applications" Because of the size of this Update DVD, it doesn't support older servers and it is sometimes best to download instead the Update DVD Base and...

Re: Warning Led blinking in Primergy RX100 S5

The power button override message is probably just that - you've reset the server at sometime but forcing a power off. No timestamps on your message so it could be recent or could be ancient. Unlikely this is causing the LED though The other message is also self explanatory - BIOS Keyboard error - k...

Re: RX2530 M4 won't recognise HDD

If you are using SAS disks then you very definitely need a SAS controller. SAS controllers can drive SATA disks but SATA controllers cannot see SAS disks. Your onboard controller is SATA only so unless you put in a SAS card you won't see your disks. The SAS expander is irrelevant if you are using on...
