Re: Amilo LI2727 CD/DVD Drive problem

Depending on the age of the PC you may be able to run the untility to create a recovery disk (Press F8 on boot) and then you can run a revoery or a reinstall of Windows. Alternatively, look at switching to Win XP, far more stable than Vista

Re: Battery in or out???

If you want to be able to keep you battery in shape for future use, you can leave it in but be sure to switch to the battery at least once a week and work on the PC until you get a low battery alarm, this will work to keep the battery in reasonable shape.
Hope this helps

Re: [Li2727] Can it handle Dual-Core CPUs & Driver question.

Don't know the answer on the dual core question, but if you are still running Vista you will be using almost 50% of you CPU just to run Vista. I recommend changing to XP, there are plenty of threads here on how to do this, both Rob and Amater have done a great job of preparing and making available a...

Re: Potential Hard Disk replacement?

The Siemens/Fujitsu recovery disk will rebuilt the hard drive to the "Out of the Box" set up, basically you need to back up all you data and other settings and make sure you have any and all of you other programs available to install again when it has finished. I seem to remember that the ...

Re: amilo li2727

Unfortunately Siemens/Fujitsu do not ship recovery disks with their PC's, at least not for the Li2727, if you really want to recover back to the original set up and you did not make the recovery disks then you can contact Siemens/Fujitsu on their web site and they can sell you a recovery disk. Sorry...

Re: External drive labels

Ian - The issue you are seeing is very common, the drive letters are assigned on a next letter priority when a drive is plugged into a USB port, occaisionally the drive locks in on one letter and then for no apparent reason the next time you plug the drive in it changes again. This is only an issue ...

Re: [li2727] keyboard problem, numbers instead of letters

I have a weird problem with my laptop. When I press the letters N, M, J, K, L, I, O, P the numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or an asterisk appears instead unless I hold down the Fn button first, It is also impossible to get certain other characters such as an exclamation point and semi-colon to appear t...

Re: [li2727] recovery disc

HI,does anyone know where i can buy/obtain the recovery cd's for a Amilo L7320GW LAPTOP THANK YOU. The only drawback I have found is the fact that I have to live with a keyboard that is American English (the epitome of oximorons  ), and I am assured that there is no way I can change that. So I...

Re: [li 2727] Removing the rear cover.

The cover to get to the RAM is kind of difficult to get off, I used a plastic knife to gently ease it up until I could get my finger ends under it an get it past the tabs, once you get one corner out it is not too bad. On the manual issue, did you check to see what manuals are on your hard drive?, t...

Re: Li2727 I need help

The Key stroke to access the wireless untility is FN+F1, also take a look through this forum for a detailed script that you can use to automatically turn on your Wireless when you boot up your PC.
Hope this helps

Re: [LI 2727] Battery Indicator Question

Both of your concerns are quite simple. On the Li 2727 there is a function in control panel to adjust the power/performance settings, this allows you to choose how you want your laptop to run, maximum processing power all the time even on battery, this gives good performance but very poor battery li...
