Ok, I think I've found a way to solve this beeping problem (it's very easy). Right click 'computer' in the start menu, click manage, click device manager on the left. Under the 'Sound, video and game controllers' section, double click on the Conexant sound device. Go to the driver tab and click roll...

I've contacted Fujitsu Siemens and they refuse to do anything seeing as they dont class this as being covered under warranty. :( Any ideas?

It's a black V5505, but it's getting blacker. I can't think of any reason other than shoddy paint, I don't sweat that much and I certainly don't use vaseline.

This problem is due to the piezoelectric effect when the processor scales to its lowest power saving mode; it's more of a problem with intel than fujitsu-siemens, really.
