Re: going from raid 1 to raid 5

Yes I think this should be possible. In ServerView RAID Manager, look under RAID Level Migration. Can take some time, suggest you find a quiet time to do it and (just in case) ensure you have a complete backup. Different system I jnow but have a look at https://forum.ts.fujitsu.com/forum/viewtopic.p...

Re: Primergy TX 300 S8

I am a bit confused. When you put the new disk in, did it become part of the RAID 0. I.e. data stripped across both disks with a logical size of 2x Disk size? If so, you have an immediate problem with a 2 disk RAID 1 having half the available disk capacity of the 2 disk RAID 0.

Re: Primergy TX1310 M1 Keeps stopping

I would start by replacing the mainboard, followed by PSU.

Re: Primergy TX1310 M1 Keeps stopping

Given that there is no BMC and thus no ErrorLog, diagnostics will have to be down the hard way.

When you say shuts down - does it just die? Might be faulty power supply or mainboard.
Suggest you strip system down to minimum configuration, and then replace parts until error is resolved.

Re: TX2540 M1 HD

I think they should work. Have you tried other disks in the same slot to rule out cabling/connection issues?

Re: UPDATING FIRMWARE PRIMEQUEST and PRIMERGY

If you have the serial numbers of the servers, you should be able to find the downloads on http://support.ts.fujitsu.com . However, with the PRIMEQUEST in particular, I would no recommend working on it unless you have done some training and understand the consequences of your activities.

Have you tried connecting to the iRMC to see what has been logged in the SEL?

Re: Fujistu ETERNUS DX80 disk replacemant - status not changed

  • If you go into the DX Web GUI what does it show for the RAID Group and for the disk?
  • Is the replacement disk an approved Fujitsu ETERNUS disk?
  • Are there any messages in the event log that might give a clue?

Re: ServerView Video Redirection password

There isn't a default BIOS password. If there is a password it is because someone has set one. In this case, it may be possible to reset it - but first you need to confirm that this is indeed the problem. If it is, have a look at the Upgrade and Maintenance Manual.

Re: ServerView Video Redirection password

That looks very much like some sort of system or BIOS password request. Do you have physical access to the console, as I suspect you will find that password request there as well

Re: ServerView Video Redirection password

Hmm, it might help to have a screen shot of the password request to identify who is issuing the request. For instance, are you going through a firewall/proxy which needs a password?

Re: PRIMERGY TX1310 M1: iSCSI Boot + Installation MS Windows Server

Hmmm, there must be something about your system! I have got this to work on a TX150 S7 without any problems. You are using the on-board network card? Be worth ensuring you are on latest BIOS, do a 'Get Default Values', and then set the required BIOS options such as iSCSI. Your network card appears t...

Re: PRIMERGY TX1310 M1: iSCSI Boot + Installation MS Windows Server

As far as I can see, for Windows Server 2008, you need to download Intel LAN Driver_Tool SetupBD from SW-Kit 14.7 . Unzip this onto a memory stick. During Windows, load the LAN driver from SetupBD_x64_1Gb_10Gb_W2K8_R2_14.7\PRO1000\Winx64\NDIS62\e1q62x64

Re: PRIMERGY TX1310 M1: iSCSI Boot + Installation MS Windows Server

Well I think the manual you reference says it all (my highlighting): If no iSCSI target LUN is displayed in this menu, there are two possible reasons: ⋅ The iSCSI parameters in the controller’s firmware setup do not match the corresponding parameters in the configuration of the iSCSI targe...

Re: DX 100 S3 in Operations Manager

If the SNMP packets are arriving at the DX but it is not responding, that would suggest the DX is ignoring the packets. Has the SNMP Manager been configured for the IP address of Operations Manager and enabled for the community string?
