Fujitsu got back to me and indicated this application is done by windows. I found that in control panel power options the setting was set to desktop thus no battery icons would appear on the task bar. the drivers are on the drivers disk supplied with the machine from the OEM.
I recently had to instal alot of drivers and modem was one of them, also installed chipset drivers and that removed a Yellow ! mark.
