Amilo Pa 1510 Melted LCD Surround Plastics

I'm hoping someone else might have had a similar issue which will clear up this mystery. I have an Amilo Pa 1510 which runs, and continues to run fine. The other day however I noticed that the black plastic screen surround appeared to have melted slightly on the top right hand edge about 5cm in . Cl...

Thanks Dave for the explanation regarding the drive size, that's useful. As regards the D drive i'm pretty certain it's not used as a recovery partition in any way, that's the job of the EISA partition. I hear what you say about the wisdom of keeping it separate for data and see where your coming fr...

Unable to search this forum, am I the only one?

Is it just me or is this forum site running painfully slow, to the extent that doing a search is pretty much impossible? I've been trying to look for something now for over three weeks and each time the search page times out before displaying results. I'm on a very fast broadband connection which is...

Hi Denise,

My daughter is getting the same problem with her laptop. However, hers is now out of warranty.

Have you solved it yet? Did it turn out to be the backlight?

I'd be very interested to find out how you get on. Sounds like this could be a weak point on the Amilo.

Windows XP SP2 - Freeze Issues

I have just installed XP SP2 on my daughters Amilo K 7600 machine (AMD processor). The machine has now started 'locking up' and the only way out is to power down and restart. Anyone else had any problems with SP2?
