When they eventually picked it up as arranged, (they actually sent for it early before it was packed up!), it was returned on the day they said. I think it was around a week. They did say that if they didn't consider it a warranty case, they would charge for repairs. I think this would have been som...

I had a similar problem but they did fix it under warranty, see here : http://forum.ts.fujitsu.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26243 It was the backlighting that went in mine don't know about the freezing though, it might not be connected. As tenchiten says, it's not rare and should be a warranty job unle...

Can't remember exactly what the details were, (I'm not that technical!), but I seem to remember it wouldn't boot normally so I had to boot in safe mode and use system restore to get windows running properly again. Sorry, I know it's not much help. I did put a warning on the post with the download, b...

[AMILO La1703] Amilo 1703 sound.

I tried the update in the locked post at the top of the forum, but it screwed up my system. I did post a warning, but it seems to have mysteriously vanished and the post locked! Make of it what you will! :?

There's an update at the top of the forum page for this, but when I tried it, it screwed up the whole system. I did put a reply on to warn people but it looks like "someone's" removed it!

I have the same problem with the same model. Don't know how to tell what it's running at, but it's a hell of a lot slower on battery! :(

[AMILO La1703] 1703 with Vista, see thread at top.

I downloaded the driver update in the locked thread at the top of the forum, but it screwed up windows vista, (home basic). I've had to restore the system to even boot vista up. Be careful! :?

I've just got the amilo back and it seems o.k. if a little noisier than before. I've got to admit it was done without fuss, (after it was finally picked up at the right time!). Hopefully it'll be fine now, but I'll keep my eye (ear?) on the noise. :)

Further update, I've just had someone at the door to pick up my amilo for repair (it's thursday). It's not packed up and ready yet because I was told they'd be here next tuesday! I've now got to go through the warranty department again to re-book a collection. I've also been told that if they don't ...

Further to the above, I've been in touch with the warranty department and they say it sounds like faulty back lighting which is, apparently, quite common. They're going to sort it out, so it'd be best if you give them a try, (unless yours is out of warranty of course!).
Hope this may be of some use.

Hello, I've a few similar misgivings about my amilo (La 1703). It's also noisy and feels cheaply made, especially the keyboard. The battery lifes only about an hour, which isn't fantastic, but I did know about that when I bought it. I usually use mine with the mains adapter though, so I can't compla...

Hello, I've just joined the forum to see if anyone has had this problem. I've been having the same fault for about two weeks on my 1703, I haven't updated the Bios though, and have uninstalled norton. I'm using windows vista home basic, AVG and zone alarm. The screen flashes dark now and then, it's ...
