Also, on the POST screen after counting RAM, the BIOS displays:

Memory MHz
Memory Data width
Single Channel/Dual Channel

There is no way to see this in BIOS Setup itself

Hi Robert, I am not completely sure that I can help you with this problem, but I have a suggestion you can try. I think the key here is getting completely rid of any traces of the video card/software/drivers and then re-install them. First - instead of disabling your video card - try to mark it and ...

Hi Kenneth, I just discovered to my horror today that my Scaleo X Extreme Gamer PC (MS-7293 like you, but rev. 2.0) is running Single Channel on the RAM, even though I have 2 RAM modules that are exactly the same. This is really to bad! Does your RAM run Single or Dual Channel and have you done anyt...

Hi Robert, >OK I think I found the where I disable the sound card. It must be the >one called "Azalia HDA controller". I was looking for something called >reatech before. Yup, thats the one. It took a while before I realised that this was actually a sound card. The term "HDA" did...

Thanks Olshevch.

I can see that others than myself has been very surprised by the lack of "Extreme Gamer" functionality and upgradability.

Hi Robert, I did find a newer BIOS on the FSC support page for Scaleo X. Go to http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/com/support/index.html Enter your serial number in the "Driver Search/Enter Ident. Nr" field and all relevante downloads including a BIOS from 1212-2006 should emerge. I instal...

>But could you tell me what is the best card No, sorry :) That depends on what games you play and in what resolutions. One card may be better in HL2 and the other in Oblivion. Check the VGA charts on http://www.tomshardware.com for more info on the performance of those 2 cards. >would it work fine o...

Hi,

While you might find SOME games to be limited by your CPU, you will certainly find that ANY game will benefit from upgrading your FX5500 to either a 7600GT/X1800.

In my experience, it does not matter if you choose AMD/ATI or Nvidia. Nowadays they both work fine.

[Xi] Motherboard / BIOS help

Dear all, I have just purchased a Scaleo X PC because I wanted a "best-in-class computing performance" and "fully-upgradeable" PC. However, after having removed the chassis lid and having a look at the components and BIOS, I can safely say that I am very disappointed. Firstly. In...
