Re: [V3515] Sata drivers

For Intel chipsets: There is a quite simple workaround - on boot press F2 to get into BIOS. There disable the AHCI mode. After that install Windows without messing with the F6 option at all. Once that is done, simply download this handy IBM tool: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/7tim04ww...

Re: [Pro V3405]Installing Windows XP

Another way of going about it simply turning the AHCI configuration off in your BIOS, install the XP, once that is installed install the SATA drivers & turn on the AHCI configuration again - just chose what suits you the best.

Don't lose your head, we'll sort this out. I guarantee you you won't lose a single byte of your personal data. What you need is a working computer connected to internet which apparently shouldn't be a problem as you were able to post on this forum. Here's what we want to do: boot a full operating sy...

hmmmm - the dimmed microphone is the way to go... and what happens if you plug a microphone (it doesn't have to be a microphone - headphones will do just fine) into the input socket, does it work? I googled a bit and this is what I found (it's an HP lappy but it has got the same soundcard - maybe it...

too bad guys, it happened to me as well like 14 days back or so...I'm a technician and what I'm gonna say now gives me shivers as it sounds like a complete irrational nonsense but hey - maybe it's gonna help you...Besides the annoying wireless and long shutdown time I used to have other issues with ...

I used to have an Amilo Pro 3545 with exactly the same problem - what you need is to address the very roots of this problem and that is (apart from the awful cooling design) insanely high voltages per each frequency of your CPU. The solution? Undervolt your CPU - you don't lose ANY performance and y...

hi there - here's a way to determine whether it's a soft- or hardware related issue. Just go to this website: http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download , choose your location & download an ISO image. It's a so called linux Live CD -don't get scared, it's really easy, you just stick in the CD &...

most of the problems concerning suspend/resume are related to problems with graphics - is your graphic card working properly? I know this is not a solution and I'm always nervous when something's not working the way it's supposed to but using hibernation is much better anyway cause the ntb consumes ...

I absolutely agree with what you said. I'm ready to contribute with as much of an effort as possible. I had a couple of posts in this topic - I called a FSC tech guy and he said that he himself is not quite sure about the 2Gb limit & offered me to bring the lappy to FSC's service center claiming...

High, I have a different model - I just googled for your model & checked the first link which said it's equipped with Intel's wlan. But it's obvious that FSC put different pieces of HW into one model. I bet you won't get any support, they'll tell you they don't support an opensource OS...is the ...

Do not disassemble the machine, you'll lose your warranty...why don't you try a nice software solution with direct impact at the source - I'm talking about undervolting your CPU with e.g. Rightmark CPU clock? It works great for me, the laptop is cool, quite & I don't lose any performance...even ...

there's nothing you can do about it - it's not stealing the RAM, it's just taking as much as it needs and it always needs something so that you can use your ntb. Just gotta live with it...if you're not a gamer (which you say you're not) and aren't running any RAM excessive apps (transcoding, e.g. ad...

Well, the memory passed so the problem shouldn't be there...if you can't even enter BIOS then it looks like a hardware issue and there isn't much you can do about it...have to take it FSC, hope it's still in warranty... What happens when you press F12?

it actually doesn't have to be that bad - it all depends on what you're gonna use the ntb for - if you're not a gamer and are OK with 800 megs of RAM then it might be actually better, cause the integrated graphics aren't that energy hungry and produce a lot less heat - thus you get a better battery ...
