[E] riser card

I think I have a “problem” with the riser card in my Scaleo e. I removed the two Hauppuage TV cards and replaced them with a dual tuner card, which works well. I wanted to use the other PCI slot on the riser card for a sweetspot processor. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to work at all. I’m not sure ...

The answer is...void the warranty, take the lid off and have a look. All then becomes clear. The MSI card has gone in great and despite the box saying "minimum 300w power supply" no problems so far. This also cleared up one of the problems I had with the TV cards. I could not record from o...

Are these PCI-e cards? Do they fit the Scaleo e? I thought it had to be PCI. I am now very confused. Help?

I've now done a bit more research and like the look of the MSI GeForce HDMI/DVI card. This is HDTV ready, HDCP compliant and passively cooled which should keep noise and current draw to a minimum. Now to summon up the courage to break open the cover. Can the existing card be removed? If so, does it ...

This is very interesting. Any power supply problems? Where did you get it? Where there any problems with fitting? Sorry for all the questions, but this is just what I have been waiting for.

Thanks!

Anybody? I've now seen mention of ATI X1300 mobility but not found anyone who has actually done this.

Thanks.

[E] graphics upgrade for Vista Aero

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know the answer to this? I would like to upgrade to Vista but the compatibility tool says Aero will not work. I also think the onboard graphics is not powerful enough generally. Is there an idiots guide to doing an upgrade somewhere?

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks,

Solved

And the solution is: use cheap cables.

Instead of using nice expensive directional cables, just use cheap non-directional ones and the whole thing works like a dream.

Scaleo e: S-video problem

My Scaleo e simply refuses to output an s-video signal in colour. I have tried a variety of cables and different connection methods using the graphics card and scart board, but only achieving good old black & white. I have been into the BIOS but the only relevant setting I can find is TV Format ...

Following on, might part of my problem be that I have a problem device - "multimedia video controller". I don't know what device this is and what drivers to load. Help?

Aux In

Sorry to appear thick, but is there an answer to the last post. I simply want to output via VGA what goes in on Aux scart. Thanks for any help.
