[Ax600] screen drivers for Amilo A 2000

Postby gaurakrishnadas on Fri Aug 01, 2008 14:22

Hi friends.
I have this very nice but very old Amilo A 2000 which for some reason no longer can find his screen drivers. I have contacted Fujitsu siemens support line but they no longer have such old stuff lying around. Can anyone tell me the name of the drivers needed and where I might get it?

I have searched on the net but only one link came up "Driverfix" but when I tried to run this it gave me a read error and stoped.

Look forward to hear from you

thank you for your time

Gaura :)

Not sure what exactly do you mean by screen drivers, but if you need the graphics driver, try this one (for Windows XP).

The screen itself doesn't need any drivers.

Hi Amater.

Thank you so much for the graphic's drivers. I tried to run them and it reported that it could not copy the files and asked me to please check that the path is correct. I checked that path and it is leading back to the folder that I downloaded from you.

I checked what I actually meant when I wrote screen drivers and actually you are right it says display adapters (VGA device) under the device manager. So it is the display drivers that I need. Sorry.

I am running XP professional on my machine, does that make a different in this regard compared to running XP home?

As you can hear I don't have much knowledge in this field, please forgive me, but I would be grateful to you if you could help me through this one.

All the best

No need to apologize, I just wanted to clear things out, so that I can assist you.

The driver that I gave you the link to is the official graphics driver for Amilo A2000. You just download the zip file and extract it to a temporary folder (e.g. c:\temp). Then you open this folder and you run the setup.exe. After the installation completes you will probably have to reboot your notebook and that's it. After that you can delete the temp folder.

I've also checked and it seems that Amilo A2000 is identical to the Amilo A6600/7600. They all have ATI Radeon IGP 320M graphics, so you might want to try these drivers. They are even a bit newer than the drivers from A2000.

And no, it doesn't matter if you have XP Pro or XP Home.

Great to hear that you solved your problem and I'm glad I could help you out.

Nope my nickname has no special meaning. amater (in Slovenian) means amateur (in English).
